But German architect André Broessel, of Rawlemon, has a different idea. He invented a spherical sun-tracking globe. It concentrates both sunlight and moonlight up to 10,000 times! That makes solar power 35% more efficient than your conventional panel.

André Broessel’s latest invention looks like something out of a superhero movie. But in reality, it’s just a solar energy generator. And if nothing else, it looks pretty cool.

Broessel’s invention is about much more than looks though. A recent report in Fast Company says the German architect touts his orb-like system as being 35 percent more efficient than a standard panel, doing even better when combined with a tool for tracking the sun. That by itself is revolutionary for a field of energy that has already begun to dominate all others.

“For the last 40 years we have tried to capture this energy with PV panels,” Broessel says in his Indiegogo campaign for Rawlemon. “But the earth is moving around the sun, and the fixed panel is losing its efficiency.”
