This Girl Builds Homes & Grows Food For The Homeless Because “Everyone Deserves A Place To Live.”
Meet Hailey Fort, a special young person from Bremerton, Washington. At the age of 5, she saw a hungry homeless man and asked her mom if they could buy him a sandwich, and that kicked into motion a real drive to help disadvantaged people in her community.
Today, at the age of 9, she is passionately working toward her goal of helping homeless people by building 12 mobile sleeping shelters for homeless people.

“It just doesn’t seem right that there are homeless people. I think everyone should have a place to live,” Hailey told King 5 News.
These shelters are 36 square feet and include windows, a front door that locks, insulation made out of recycled jeans, and a safe space to rest for the night. She builds all the structures by herself with the counsel of her grandfather.
