This Couple Quit Their Jobs And Sold Everything, Just To Travel The World With Their Cat

Here is a young couple who could no longer take the daily rat race. They quit their jobs, sold everything, and now they travel the world with their cat on a sailboat.

Matt and Jessica Johnson are both 32 years young. They gave up on the “American Dream” in 2008 when they quit their jobs and purchased the boat. They practiced with the boat for over 3 years, but eventually made it out to sea.

“Our lives were the typical American Dream. Go to school, get married, buy a house, start a career. So far we’ve also left out the part of having 2.5 kids,” the Grand Rapids, Michigan, couple told the Daily Mail. “For too long we had spent all of our weekends in front of the TV without ever doing anything productive or enjoyable. We realised this needed to change.”

They only need about $1000 USD every month to survive. Throughout their travels, they have visited 16 countries: Bahamas, Jamaica, Cuba, Peru, and several others. Their cat Georgie, who loves to swim, has been their traveling companion since 2012.
