Because of her many social events, she was also drinking a lot of champagne. Add in her fourth divorce and veentually she broke.

Marlyn finally admitted herself into the Payne Whitney psychiatric ward in New York, thinking they would help her with her insomnia and let her rest. Instead, they locked her in a padded room and wouldn’t let her leave until her ex, Joe DiMaggio, broke her out.

We Don’t Actually Know How Her Story Ends

Marilyn Monroe was found dead by her housekeeper on August 5, 1962. The reports say it was an overdose, probably on purpose.
