I am an introvert. This fact about myself wouldn’t bother me in the least if not for the fact that so many people don’t “get” me.
You see, sometimes it’s really difficult to explain why I don’t like doing certain things and why I would rather walk across fire than be in a large crowd.
It’s especially difficult to explain this to someone who is not an introvert.
If you are an extrovert, don’t take it personally when an introvert doesn’t want to go with you to a large party and remember these 6 things if you really love an introvert.

They can act silly, crazy, be loud, and even sing karaoke! Just because someone is quiet doesn’t necessarily mean they are boring.
Most introverts don’t like all eyes to be on them. It can be difficult to speak up at a work meeting, deliver a speech, or answer a question in front of other people.
They typically like to listen to other people’s perspective and hear what they have to say.
It doesn’t mean introverts don’t have an opinion. Sometimes it’s just difficult for them to articulate what they’re thinking.
Introverts actually prefer to stay home on a Friday night. They may go out with friends, a party, or out to dinner, but they actually prefer to stay in and avoid the large crowds.
Introverts love spending quiet time alone with their partners.
You don’t need to pay attention to them constantly in order for them to feel loved. Just being by their partner’s side makes them happy.
I sometimes wonder what it would be like to walk into a large group of people and instantly feel comfortable instead of wishing I were someplace else.
I always thought that it has to be cool to have that infectious energy that draws people to you.
I love myself as an introvert, but sometimes I wish I could live it up as an extrovert.
Introverts are able to be more extroverted for brief periods of time. But, hey only do so for people who are truly special to them.
So, when they agree to go to the big office Christmas party with you, they would love if you could balance that gift.
The next day they may need time alone to recharge, and having support for that time will make them more willing to step out of their comfort zone again.
