Optimistic people are constantly striving for more – to be better versions of themselves. Part of that is building a foundation of gratitude upon which to build. By being grateful for what they already have, they are better prepared to enjoy what may come.
Letting go of the past is such a relief when done right. Optimistic people know that staying mad is like drinking a poison and expecting the other person to get a stomach ache. They forgive and move on.
No matter what the situation is, they find some kind of joy or positive out of it, no matter how terrible. Every situation has something it can teach us, and optimistic people use it to their advantage to build upon themselves and become the best people they can be.
The optimistic tend to be yes people. They love finding themselves in new situations doing new, incredible things. They’re the types of people who leave for hikes at 6am and telecommute into work while skydiving. The great thing about them though is they don’t shove it all down your throat, but you’re more than welcome to come along.
When negativity comes their way, when they get critiqued and criticized in unfair ways, the optimistic don’t take that junk personally. They recognize everyone has an opinion, but there’s one opinion that matters more than anything: their own.
Optimistic people don’t enter into any kind of relationship assuming that the person they’re involved with will be anything but decent. They assume the best in people until they have a reason not to.
