“That’s been one of my mantras – focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.” – Steve Jobs

People want to live full, happy lives, but sometimes life’s complexities keep us hung up in our current situations.

We find we don’t have enough time, we enjoy things less, we feel so much stress, we consume too much, we obsess over our possessions, we don’t live in the moment and we pursue things that just aren’t right for us.

Are you still searching for your life purpose? You won’t believe what the science of Numerology can reveal about you!

That’s right, the numerology of your birth date, regardless of what month you were born, can reveal surprising information about your personality.

Well, it’s time to shake all that off! These are the seven steps to living a simpler life. You can start today!

1. Declutter your home.

This is one of the most satisfying steps, so I make it number one. Look at the surfaces of your home. Your desk, your tables, your counters, etc.

Are they covered in stuff? Old mail? Dirty dishes? Nick knacks you don’t really need? Take a deep breath and think about what you really NEED to keep and what can go.

The result should be a significantly less cluttered surface.

Think you’re done there? Sorry to say it, no. What’s hiding in your desk drawers? In your cabinets? Are they full of junk? Those need to be cleared out too. After that, what’s next?

2. Get a grip on your finances.

Do you have satellite TV you never use? Do you have expenses that aren’t important? Are you just spending too much money in general?

Get a grip on your finances! A great question to ask yourself is: is this a want or a need?

3. Center yourself.

It doesn’t matter what faith or spirituality you follow. Or if you don’t follow one at all! Find your center.

Quit rushing around, take stock of the things that are truly important to you, consider meditating, reading scripture, or whatever it is that gets you in touch with what’s larger than you.

4. Be careful not to overuse technology.

Computers and smart phones are great, but don’t overdo it.

If you’re the kind of person who gets four hours of sleep because of computer games or the internet, it’s time to take a step back and disconnect.

5. Find some alone time.

Relax, rejuvenate, and spend some time by yourself. Solitude allows your mind to relax, enhances creativity, improves your focus, and helps charge your batteries, so to speak.

6. Slow down!

We rush too much from one place to the next, one chore to the next, one job to the next, and if we’re not careful, right into our graves.

Life isn’t about moving as fast as you can. The finish line might not be something you want. Be present. Think about the here and now.

7. Take on one task at a time.

I am a believer in spreadsheets. I keep two spreadsheets open at all time. One for the tasks I need to do in the short term, and one for more long term tasks.

Writing out all my duties and chores like that helps me get a grip on them and not multitask. Try it!
