Nostradamus is a French astrologer and self-proclaimed seer who lived in the 1500s. During his time, he wrote a book called Les Prophéties, or 'The Prophecies,' which contained 942 poetic verses that he said were predictions of future events. People claim he successfully predicted events such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the rise of artificial intelligence.

His prophecies continue to shake the world every year, so let's see what he's said will pass in 2024.

King Charles III's reign may be cut short, according to Nostradamus, who said that the "King of the Isles" will be "driven out by force" in 2024. He also wrote that "soon afterward [a disastrous war] a new King shall be anointed / Who, for a long time, will appease the earth."

Mario Reading, a British author and Nostradamus commentator, believes that this could happen as the result of "persistent attacks on both [King Charles III] and his second wife." As for who would take over? He believes it could be Prince Harry, as Nostradamus said this king's replacement would "have no mark of a king."

Further Climate Trouble

Current climate issues and the struggles they cause are only set to continue in 2024. "The dry earth will grow more parched," Nostradamus wrote, "and there will be great floods." Some believe the latter half points to an increase in Tsunamis for coastal countries.

This idea of Tsunamis is also supported by another line of his where he warns of a "very great famine through pestiferous wave," which makes it sound like this flooding will wreak havoc on vital agriculture.

Nostradamus also predicted the introduction of a new Pope, specifically a younger one. "Through the death of the very old Pontiff. A Roman of good age will be elected," he wrote. He also added that this new Pope will "weaken his see," the meaning of which remains in the air, and that this Pope will hold the title for a long time.

The current Pope, Pope Francis, is now in his mid-80s and has been fighting with some health issues lately, so this one is perhaps the most foreseeable.

Lastly, Nostradamus wrote of a great battle, one we'd likely consider a war, but he specified that it would happen largely on water. He wrote about "combat and navel battle" coming this year, saying the "Red adversary will become pale with fear. Putting the great Ocean in dread."

Now, people are interpreting the 'Red adversary' to be China and for this war to take place on the Indian Ocean, but that's just a guess. This line is rather subjective when it comes to the enemy in question and the Ocean being referenced.

In fact, because he wrote everything in poetic verse, many of Nostradamus' predictions have an element of vagueness to them. They're up for interpretation, able to change based on the current state of the world. That doesn't make them inaccurate or wrong, it just means they need further analysis, as well as proper reflection at the end of the year.
