Mom And Daughter Duo Take Revenge On Sister Who Donated Her Christmas Gift

As we move into new phases of our lives, it's not uncommon for people to clean and get rid of old things that no longer suit them, often by donating them to a thrift store. Decorations they don't feel attached to anymore, or accessories they know they'll never wear again, that sort of thing.

Some people don't wait that long, though. They may get something they know they'll never use, so they think it best to just get rid of it. Sometimes, they're things they bought themselves that they immediately regret, but sometimes they're gifts, meaning the gifter is at risk of finding it donated.

Every single one of us has either re-gifted or gotten rid of a gift we've received. Sometimes, someone gives us something we know we won't use, so we figure it's best to let someone else have it, it happens! Sure, it can make you feel a little guilty, especially if the original gifter was so kind about it, but it's ultimately for the best.

What if the original gifter finds out, though? What if they spot their gift for sale online or at another friend's place?

A Quick Donation

That scenario is exactly what happened to a woman named Ellie Clarkson. Well, Ellie Clarkson's mom. The two of them were out shopping when they noticed a very distinct, unique red handbag, one that was gifted to Ellie's sister by their mother for Christmas just days prior.

Ellie's mom didn't seem offended by the obvious donation of her gift, appearing in a photo holding it while smiling. The two found it funny, if anything. Ellie even saw an opportunity to play a fun joke on her sister, making sure she wouldn't be able to forget about that bag so easily.

She bought the bag back from the thrift store, took some photos of it which she then printed out, and wrote out a note saying, "Why don't you want me?" All of these went into an envelope that she delivered to her sister's home (decked out in a balaclava so she wouldn't be spotted doing it.)

She promises a second video in which the "cursed bag turns up on her doorstep," but that second video never came, so we'll never know how this ended.

Sensitive Hearts

Though this wound up being harmless, and it's clear that no one's feelings were hurt, some people in the comments still considered it a 'sad' video.

The top comment reads, "Oh that's awful, that would hurt my heart if my daughter did that."

Replies to this comment got pretty snarky, with one reading, "It would hurt my heart too if I didn't know my daughter well enough to know her likes & dislikes." Another said, "It would hurt my heart if my mum gave me a gift that I didn't want so much I donated it. At least it went to people in need."

Making Their Own Fun

Others thought of ways to introduce the bag back into the sister's life. Some suggested not just delivering it but hiding it somewhere in her home or giving it to her again for the next year's Christmas.

Overall, it was a moment that could have been a little saddening but was turned around by the good attitudes that this family carries. If anything, they have true Christmas spirit, being able to find light in any scenario and celebrate the bonds of family above material gift-giving (even if that bond comes in the form of silly pranks).
