Can you remember what you were doing when you were 11? Most of us were kicking a ball around and trying to find a good excuse not to have to go to school anymore. We did our best for a bright future. However, this isn't the norm for all children.
An 11-year-old Iranian high school student in the United Kingdom is making headlines for proving that she may be smarter than Einstein before even hitting her teens. Her results on her Mensa IQ test are so remarkable that they surpass those of the greatest geniuses to ever live, such as Albert Einstein and tStephen Hawking. For this girl, her path is just beginning.

Tara Sharifi was just your typical student at Aylesbury High School. She was still young and forming her own identity. But Tara wasn't like all of the kids around her. Her brain worked a little differently, being able to process on a higher level. Her parents quickly noticed that she had something special and they encouraged her to figure out exactly how it worked so that she can nurture it.
"It was a joint decision between me and my parents to take the test," the girl said. “It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet other people within the Mensa system. I have told some of my friends at school and they were really impressed.”
Tara and her family never expected that she would score as high as she did. After taking the Mensa IQ test in Oxford, the child scored well above the "genius benchmark" of 140.
In fact, the 11-year-old student scored 162 points on the test, which is two points ahead of Einstein, a theoretical physicist who is known as one of the two pillars of modern physics, and famous cosmologist and theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking. Although Einstein never took the test, his IQ is also estimated to be 160.
Can you imagine being on the same intellectual level as two of the most iconic geniuses before the age of 12?
The Mensa IQ test is the largest and oldest high-IQ society in the world having started in 1946. Mensa's original aims were, as they are today, to create a society that is non-political and free from all racial or religious distinctions. Today, it remains a non-profit organization open to people who score at the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized, supervised IQ or other approved intelligence test.
The test needs to be answered within a set time. Tara focused on her ability to understand the meanings of words. With the score she received, Tara now qualifies for the High IQ society in the world.
Taking this test has encouraged the young girl to believe that she can accomplish anything she dreams of: "I was shocked when I got the result – I never expected to get such a good score," Tara said.
Her future is bright and while for now, she has to stay in school, when she becomes older, she wants to pursue "something related to mathematics." For all we know, she will follow in the footsteps of previous geniuses whose brains were able to change the world as we know it.
Tara's family was also surprised by the results, but they were proud that it was their daughter who got the highest score possible. They always believed in her, and now they know for a fact that she's destined for great things.
"I am extremely proud but very surprised at how well Tara scored," her father, Hossein, said, “I figured she might do well when we watched TV and she would get maths questions before the contestants. I knew she was very clever but I did not think she would have such a high IQ.”
Tara's impressive score means and qualifying for a Mensa membership (AKA the High IQ Society), means that she'll get to contact other members, ad the ranks of highly publicized women
While he was alive Einstein's theory of relativity changed our understanding of space, time, gravity, and the universe. Stephen Hawking's contributions to the understanding of gravity, black holes and cosmology were also huge. Only time will tell what Tara will do!
70% of the population fall between a score of 85 and 115. Less than 3% score higher than 130and 140 is considered the genius benchmark. The test is available to the public. You can take it and see where you fall on the scale.
