Everybody has their own talents. It could be a craft, or a technical skill, or you could be excellent in social situations or problem-solving. Some talents are naturally acquired, but most are worked at extensively over the years, hours of practice poured into each person's art form of choice until mastery is attained. Every virtuoso you see has a lifetime of dedication behind them.
Everyone can practice a single skill until they're a pro, but are certain people better at picking up new talents than others? Astrology says yes.
Striving And Thriving
Every zodiac sign has a penchant for certain talents or is known to thrive in specific skill areas. Be it visual arts, the written word, mathematics, or social mastery, each sun sign thrives in certain realms. However, there are some signs where their ability to absorb new talents really shines, and if they put their mind to it, they're capable of picking up anything that anyone throws their way.
Astrologer and author of Sun Signs in Love, Desiree Roby Antila, spoke to Bustle about why certain signs are better at being multi-talented than others.
The Starring Subcategory
Antila claims it has to do with a sign's modality, or how those under a certain sign express their energy.
She also says that the mutable signs (Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius) are more likely to be multi-talented and heavily adaptable. "All four of these signs are dualistic and able to tap into many different interests with ease," she says. “They have the ability to become flexible in any environment.”
Even within this category, three of them shine through as the ones most likely to succeed when picking up new skills.
Gemini
Geminis are the crowned champions of being naturally multi-talented. Their curious nature not only attracts them to new experiences, but their steadfast dedication means if this new thing clicks, they'll happily spend a ton of time on it right away.
They want to learn everything they can about their newfound passion, and though their time in it may be short, they'll still come away with a huge bank of knowledge that will let them dip back into it any time they please. Whatever they learn gets carefully organized and filed away for later.
Concentrated Learning
Antila considers Geminis to be jacks of all trades. When they adopt a new interest, they treat it like a sprint; fast, intensive, and exhilarating. They want to get it right and perfect the first time, so they'll dedicate all their spare hours to it, especially if there's a benefit outside just learning something new.
"The combination of their mutable modality and ruling planet Mercury makes them incredibly versatile and intelligent," she says. Even though they can be considered masters of all new skills, even Geminis have better luck in certain areas. As Antila says, “They are known to learn different languages the easiest.”
Sagittarius
Sagittarius' ability to learn new talents comes from their intense, almost child-like curiosity. They become good at new things quickly because they want to learn more about them, and in learning, they pick up the more advanced skills much earlier than others, as they have an immediate desire to understand the process thoroughly.
They want to ensure every element of their life is lived to the fullest, including any new hobbies, skills, or other areas of interest, so they'll let this encompass their whole world for a bit.
Everything All At Once
Antila also remarks that Sagittarius, when available to them, loves to travel and take in different cultures. "Because of their learnings along their adventurous lives, they pick up different languages, religions, and philosophies along the way," she says.
The fact that they're a fire sign also lends them strength in these areas, as all fire signs are good at quick thinking and are highly adaptable. Sagittarius just has that added deep desire to learn as much as they can about everything that crosses their paths, so they beat out the others as the most multi-talented fire sign.
Pisces
It's with Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, that the concept of modality really comes into play. Being the final sign, Pisces has a tendency to absorb the energies of all the previous signs, acting as an emotional sponge for each of their zodiac brethren. Though this can be burdensome at times, it's also enlightening. They express this energy by turning it inwards, allowing them to be better in tune with their higher selves thanks to using others' experiences as a means of learning.
This manifests in a creative, sensitive soul, two traits that Pisces is already known for.
Creativity Abound
It also lends them raw power. As Antila puts it, "Because of this, they are able to tap into their subconscious and use their wisdom to do anything they want."
It's not surprising that Pisces tend to chase creative fields above more analytical ones, and are likely to find success in at least one area of the arts. Singing, acting, painting, sculpting, poetry, you name it, you'll find an abundance of Pisces flexing the talents they gathered.
Though, many of their artistic endeavors might be more short-lived as they hop to the next thing that interests them, leaving them with plenty of half-finished projects laying around.
It's Within All Of Us
If your sign isn't listed here, that doesn't mean you're not talented or capable of learning many new things. Everybody can succeed at just about anything they want to put their mind to, and every sign has excellent qualities that help when it comes to adopting a new skill.
