There are not many people in this world who can walk freely with wolves and share this type of special bond with such a powerful creature.

Fortunately, there are people in this world like Danielle! She is a wildlife worker at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. She has earned the respect of several timber wolves as you can see in this awesome video.

They Clearly Love Her

You can see the large grey wolf named Kekoa, walking alongside Danielle at the beginning of the video. His name is Hawaiian for “brave one.”

He is a nine year old Timber wolf who was brought in from the Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Florida. He was brought in with his sister, Sakara; who you can also see in this clip.

According to the Wildlife Center, Kekoa loves giving visitors kisses and he is extremely gentle with everyone.

It is very clear that this handsome boy definitely loves all the attention from the ladies. He walks around Danielle, happily wagging his tail and when she sits down in the snow he nuzzles in affectionately.

He also immediately starts licking her face, which may seem gross, but it is actually a sign of his affection and submission towards her.

As intimidating as he might look, this big baby is actually huge! He weighs 115 pounds and is nearly seven feet tall when standing on his hind legs.

Check out his size comparison between Danielle, who is an average sized adult, and his sister Sakara, who is slightly smaller than her brother at 85 pounds.

One of my favorite scenes in this video is when he rolls over on his back, fully exposing his belly to Danielle. This is a clear signal that he his asking for a tummy rub, but it also shows how much he truly trusts Danielle.

In an interview with The Dodo, wildlife center staffer Michelle Smith explained that “since he was raised by people and bottle fed from the time he was born, he is very well socialized, meaning he enjoys the company of people. This is not the same as domesticated or tame. He is still a ‘wild’ animal, and he does tend to show it when he is around his sister. A wolf in the wild would not act this way.”

To stress her point, she explained that a normal wild wolf would never allow a human being to pet them, let alone approach them to begin with.

Wolves try to avoid human contact as much as possible and prefer to stay well away from society.

Please remember to watch the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center’s amazing video below and see for yourself just how sweet and kind natured these wolves truly are!
