A Happy Little Family

This happy little family of three was living in a small house in Michigan, raising their toddler. What they didn’t expect was that they had moved into a potentially haunted house and would be living their own real-life horror movie.

They’ve somehow managed to upset whatever spirit is living inside of it so much that it has gotten to the point where it wants to hurt their little girl. For all those dismissing this story, there’s video proof and even physical evidence on the little girl’s body.

Captured By The Baby Monitor

The parents, Heather Brough and Joshua Higgins were home one day, assuming that their baby was safely sleeping in her crib when Heather noticed an eerie figure looking at the camera. These were certainly not her daughters’ eyes. It was unclear whether this creature meant to harm. The family would quickly find out that the spirit was angry and had harmful intentions.

As Heather looked at the baby monitor, she noticed what she assumed to be the ghost brushing right by the front of her baby’s crib. The evidence was captured through the baby monitor and the footage has since been shared with the media, and we have a copy of it here for you.

Right Out Of A Horror Movie

Joshua and Heather didn’t know what to do. No one prepares you for dealing with an angry ghost hovering over your baby’s crib. They feared that could anger the spirit even more if they went in defensively so they freaked out: “It was chilling,” Higgins said to the news “It was literally a chill down your spine, like that ‘what if’ factor—is this what I just saw?”

Obviously, the first instinct isn’t to assume that there is a ghost, but when you see it for yourself, you can only argue so much with your own vision: “I freaked out,” said Heather. “I stopped what I was doing, and I ran upstairs and grabbed my daughter.” This would not make the spirit happy…

The Attack Of The Ghost

Once Heather got upstairs, she said the ghost attacked her and her daughter Lily. This was all captured on tape. If the video evidence wasn’t enough, Heather later found scratches on the baby’s face, as outlined above. This was the first encounter, but now the family fears that there could be more…

“It scares us that it could do something else,” says the family. “I mean, there was a morning I woke up, and I felt like someone’s hands were around my neck.” It’s unclear what the family did to anger the spirit but it’s possible that the ghost’s motive has nothing to do with them, and they are just angry.

Calling Professional Help

The family has since gotten a lot of media attention and has even got their ghostbusters team to investigate. Everyone wants to get to the bottom of this. But what came as most haunting was finding out that there really had been a tragic death within the walls of the house before the family had moved in:

“I was told when we bought the houses 11 years ago, the lady who owned the property died in the main house. It’s an old farmhouse and according to her niece … she fell down the stairs, broke her hips, and laid there for a very long time before she passed away,” but that’s not all “the guesthouse was built for the lady’s brother who was schizophrenic.”

The backstory was adding up. While the family didn’t know why they would be a target, Higgins’ father has a theory that the spirit belongs to a man who died by suicide in the house: “The gentleman that lived here originally committed suicide, apparently by jumping out this window, which is one story down,” said Higgins’ father, Jim Higgins.

Moving Far Far Away

Right now, Heather and Joshua are saving up money to move out because, let’s face it, the housing market makes it hard to just pack up and leave a house you just put a downpayment on it. They hope to be able to move far, far away from this spirit and are likely planning to research the history of the house first this time.

For now, the family is all sleeping in the same room to protect themselves and calm down their fears.
