When you’re feeling broken, remember all of the lives you’ve touched and how much the world counts on you to be the best you you can be. Shed tears if you have to, but take a big, deep breath, stand up tall, and do what you have to do.
Chances are if you’re reading this, you have it better than more than half the world’s population. If there’s money in the bank, food in the fridge, heat in your home, and good friends and family you love, you’re doing alright. Look on the bright side.
Each emotion we feel is temporary. You can’t stay mad or sad or upset forever. Eventually, it will let up. Don’t force your feelings away. Instead, feel them fully. Process them. Be thankful for the opportunity to feel things.
You aren’t ever stuck in a bad situation. You can absolutely walk away from anything. There is help out there. If you need help with domestic abuse, call 1-800-799-SAFE. If you’re thinking of harming yourself, call 1 (800) 273-8255. If you think your life is in danger, call 911.
At the end of the day, it’s important to stay resilient. Changes will always happen as long as you live. Don’t fear them, but be ready for them anyway.
