9 Habits That Will Make You More Emotionally Attractive

Some people are blessed with natural beauty, they go through most of their lives benefitting from their good looks and having no trouble at all drawing the attention of anyone they find themselves interested in.

Others end up putting in more effort or just having difficulty attracting the object of their affection.

They might be socially awkward, wallflowers who don’t get noticed often or perhaps they weren’t quite as lucky in the “rugged good looks” department.

What most people don’t realize is that romance, love and especially attraction actually have to do with so much more than your face, hair or clothes.

We may not all look like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie, but putting energy and effort into being a person worthy of admiration and love can be just as appealing as a gorgeous face.

If you practice these 9 habits regularly, you can become a more attractive person, without changing anything at all about your outer appearance.

1. Live in the moment.

Mindfulness is all about being aware of your personal mental and spiritual state and the world around you in this present moment.

It’s about never dwelling too deeply on the past (this will keep you from progressing) and never obsessing too much over the future either (this forces you to live in fear and insecurity).

You have to live at least for the large majority, in this present moment. Do what you can to effect change in your life now, don’t regret what has passed and don’t worry about what might come to be.

2. Make sleep a priority.

Not only is getting good rest an incredibly important part of our overall well-being physically, but it can also influence you mentally and emotionally as well.

If you’ve ever been sleep-deprived you know how easy it is to get stressed, you feel tense and overwhelmed even by small things and you may snap at the people around you.

You’re also not a good listener and you can’t reach your full potential of productivity either. Nobody likes to feel hazy and lethargic, and nobody really likes to be around that person either.

3. Know your value.

The most expensive designer brands and salon treatments won’t do you any good if you can’t walk around with confidence in your self-worth.

You are an important, valuable person and you should never forget that. You teach people how to view and treat you by way of example.

Show that you know your value and others will come to know it, too.

4. Do not take your friendships for granted.

There is no greater asset in a person’s life than the people they surround themselves with.

Friends are the family we get to hand-pick, and we should always be grateful when we find good ones.

Without them, life would be dull and lonely, we wouldn’t even be the same people we are with them around.

Make your friendships a top priority in your life, and don’t let them fall by the wayside.

5. Smell the roses.

In other words, make sure you take a moment to enjoy the little things in life. Happiness and joy come in many forms and different-sized packages, they should never be discounted due to seeming small.

Even the briefest moment of joy can change the course of our day and therefore our experience in the world.

Love and appreciate the little bits of wonder you come across, and you’ll be a happier better person for it.

6. Learn to let go of things.

Anger, jealousy, holding a grudge… These are ugly habits. They only cultivate negativity and they age us prematurely, make us look and feel tired and worn out long before we should.

You have to learn how to forgive and move forward, not just for those around you but mostly for yourself. Holding onto these types of emotions is toxic and it will show.

7. Feed your body, feed your beauty.

Food is a powerful thing. What we put into our body is our fuel, it is a direct line to how we feel physically and internally.

Respect yourself enough to only partake in good, healthy, and real foods that nourish your body and mind.

Artificial, chemical-laden meals or downright inadequate amounts of fuel will make you look and feel exhausted and fatigued.

8. All work and no play…

Don’t be a workaholic! While it’s always great to stay occupied and productive, you should never overlook your body’s need for downtime and recuperation.

Putting aside time and space to recharge is essential to our well-being. Your rest should also equally reflect your work. If you work hard, play (or rest) hard too.

You deserve this. Besides, people who know how to be laid back and have fun are always more attractive than someone who can’t turn off the business attitude once they leave the office.

9. Keep it movin’!

You don’t need to obsessively run at 4 a.m. every morning or commit to a strict weight lifting regimen 5 days a week in order to stay active.

You can easily keep your blood flowing in a healthy way just by getting out of the house and taking a walk or practicing a little rejuvenating yoga at home in your spare time.

You can relax in the pool with a leisurely swim or take a trip downtown with friends and leave the car in the parking garage.

As long as you’re getting out there and taking in the fresh air and sunshine and keeping those muscles and that mind active, you’re on the right track.
