A Mother’s Letter On The Passing of Her Young Daughter Is A Lesson On Grief, Loss And A Mother’s Powerful Love
One of the hardest heartbreaks comes with the loss of an innocent child. It’s a mother’s worst nightmare and most painful memory. One that she likely never fully heals from but rather simply learns how to live with. Myra Sack lost her two-year-old daughter to a rare disease before the young girl even had a chance to learn to walk, talk and discover the world. The loss of such innocence is something she has to now live with for the rest of her life.
However, Myra knows that she’s not alone in her pain and her grief and she wants everyone who has lost someone they love in any capacity to allow themselves that pain. Grief shouldn’t be denied as it is proof of powerful love. Women take on many hats, and being a mother is just one of them. They are capable of so much love and power. This International women’s day we want to celebrate all women, all mothers, all wives, all daughters, all sisters, all hardworking women, all single women, all women. We can get through anything.
Here is Myra Sack’s letter on love and loss as it was shared on Upworthy.

One Last Dance
The letter has been kept word for word as to preserve the authenticity of the mother’s feelings and message:
“Dear Beauty,
Time is crawling to January 20th, the one-year anniversary of the day you took your final breath on my chest in our bed. We had a dance party the night before. Your posse came over. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, closest friends, and your loving nanny Tia. We sat in the warm kitchen with music on and passed you from one set of arms to another. Everyone wanted one last dance with you. We didn’t mess around with only slow songs. You danced to Havana and Danza Kuduro, too. Somehow, you mustered the energy to sway and rock with each of us, despite not having had anything to eat or drink for six days.
